    Changed a td5 injector, now won't start

    Hello people,

So, the disco td5 started playing about, then stayed only running on 4 cylinders.
Rocker cover off and by the simple process of disconnecting the leads it was pretty obvious that injector number 5 was the problem, so I ordered a second hand one.
Replacement injector fitted, I think I've got the code into the ecu correctly, nanocom says is written to the ecu, and the code on the injector was pretty obvious, I even made sure the one I took out was the code I replaced.
Now the engine will turn over but not fire, it did run on 4, just really lumpy, now nothing, not even trying, I've pumped the accelerator 5 times to prime the fuel system, can hear the pump running, the nanocom told me no errors have been logged, I cleaned out the plugs, replaced the injector harness whilst I was there, I'm now at a loss as to how to continue.

Any and all suggestions very gratefully revived

There are no warning light on at all, everything is working apart from the motor not running, nanocom had no faults logged, nanocom says its cranking at 250rpm

Just to add, I've just tested the injectors with the nanocom test feature and got a good click from each injector.

Could I have a failing fuel pump and injector number 5 was the only one effected, it was changing that which had started all this

How many times have you tried the priming sequence?
Do you have the battery fully charged

Because of previous experience I tend to think of the CPS as my go to for non starting TD5s. Is it possible that you disturbed the wiring to that, either at the CPS itself or at the ECU?
Otherwise I tend to agree with Rob that the fuel purge sequence needs to be done a few times. A low battery will also cause a non start.

Had the battery on charge all night, sitting at 12.4v, did the fuel purge sequence, five pumps on the throttle, and let it run to the end 3 times then cranked with me for on the throttle for maybe 20-30 seconds non stop, didn't even sound like it was trying to start, might try the cps next, although the nanocom tells me it's turning over on the starter at 250+ rpm, which suggests to me it's working.

Hmm. Maybe check you didn’t knock the connector off the fuel temp sensor on the FPR? Although I think that would throw a code.

Make sure there's no bent pin in the plug at the head which connects to the injector loom...happened to me
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
