Delayed XYZ problem after River crossings?

So my son took his D2 V8 4wding and got it well soaked, has a snorkel but obviously not well sealed as water soaked air filter.

Was still driving ok but a couple days later the M&S lights are flashing...it is showing the gear selected on the dash but jump stalling when put into D or R.

Fault codes are for RH wheel sensor. 3 amigos on too.

Have dried all the relays out but R6 (ABS) is noisy and chattering when the engine is turned off. Swapped a 40amp Narva relay in and same result.

Son is draining the ATF to see if water in it. I'm a bit worried about the torque converter but would think that wouldn't give out a couple of days later?

After ATF looking at pulling the XYZ switch off and cleaning out...Best case has water in it and needs drying. Just not sure that would cause the engine to stall after correctly selecting the gear?

Any other thoughts? Replace the black relays in the fuse box?

Just my two bobs worth, but XYZ switches get wet often. But the water may have disturbed the loom going to it where it chafes on a P clip.
did water enter the car at all? The TCU is under the passenger seat which might be a problem if it got submerged.

That amount was from the filler nut not the drain plug.

Never flushed my Disco trans, but did my Ford when the heat exchanger failed. I undid both cooler lines and put clean fluid in one end and collected crap out the other. Took a lot. The. I changed the filter and did it again. Ford has been going for two years now.

I’m saying what I did once, as I had nothing to lose, as the car is a bomb.
I’m not recommending it as correct procedure. Your choice.
