    Srs warning light

    Hello people,
I'm after suggestions for what could cause the srs light to be on, the nanocom reads no faults, even when the light is on, clear faults puts the light off, then it comes straight back on.
I've tried changing the clock spring, and the connections under the front seats both seem to be good, there is also a plug in the dash, passenger side, which I've checked as well, all seem good.
Both front seat belts get used regularly, so I don't think that's the issue, not quite sure what to check next.

    All suggestions gratefully received

Hi, unplug a pretensioner then read code again, if you dont get open circuit for that one the DCU becomes very suspect cos once the light is on it should log a fault code too unless nanocom is misbehaving in this case cos it's not the best with the SRS, i've had something similar once and found a logged code with hawkeye while nanocom didnt show any especially that you said that there is no code logged but the light goes out when you clear that non-existent code

Just been through this... test continuity of the pretensioners to see if fault there, use electrical contact cleaner on connections, if SRS light staying on it is the DCU under the cubby box - replace. We thought we had our one sorted after wet river crossings and liberal spray of contact cleaner but came back a couple of days later - replaced the DCU under the cubby box and all good since.

Just to finish this one off, finally got time to change the srs ecu over yesterday, its under the cubby box between the front seats, not difficult but very fiddly, the srs warning light has gone and on the couple of short drives I've done so far it seems to be staying off, so hopefully that's the end of that.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions, this forum really is the best thing

I looked on eBay first, a few about for 125-160, then got the one from the UK that was 36 dollars including postage, if you can wait a week they are almost giving them away over there. Just make sure your ebay setting allows you to buy from overseas

Yes it's a used one mate, I wasn't sure that was the problem and didn't want to throw a lot of money at the wrong thing, seems to be working perfectly now though, so I'm just going to leave it alone!
