My understanding as to the BMW donut (guibo in their talk) was along the lines as being only 2WD, it was actually putting more torque through the donut in the larger engine cars than the split transfer of torque on a D2 4WD chassis

Oh yeah, I wrote an article on that. Also Commodore V8 rotoflex.

    A stronger Rotoflex possibility.

Simon, are there any problems with the slightly different (1 mm) ID of the Holden part? I'm thinking the Holden one may be easier to source, and maybe cheaper.

Mate I'm really not sure. I wouldn't expect any issues based on the BMW one fitting without problem... but I can't confirm the fitment. Potentially a very tight fit though.

Commodore V8 and 2 Series Volvo use the same UVs. My son went to his local Repco, enquiring about a UV for his Volvo. The bloke checked his computer, replying "Got one in stock." He then went out the back returning with the part and gave son a price, which he thought a bit steep. Next question, "Have you got a V8 Holden one?" Look on the computer, "Yep, one in stock."
Son "Can I look at that one, please?" The checkout chap goes back to the store area returning with, "The computer says there's one in stock, but it's not on the shelf."
Son asks how much the Holden one was. $x (just over half the price of the Volvo) one.
Son says, the one you can't find is here, Holden and volvo are the same part.
CC invoiced the part at $Volvo, son told him "No mate, the Volvo can wait, I'll do the Commodore first.
    The price was adjusted.

I know. I'm not saying you are not correct about a difference. I'm just saying I'm surprised there is one.
