    T/C and CDL wiring.

I'm trying to tidy up and repair the wiring as mentioned. There are three plugs on one harness. One is for the transfer case switch, and it's fine. There are two others. One turns on the trans temp light and I can't see where it should go, but I'll find it. The other turns on the 4WD light... Well, it used to. Now it turns on the traction control light as well. This has not happened before in the time I've had the car. So, is it normal? I know that on mine engaging low range before turning the car on will disable the traction control, HDC and ABS, but this is in high range, and I've never seen it before. Am I doing something wrong?

I should probably add that since this wiring was disturbed I have added a different cluster, but I don't see what difference that would make.

It's not engaging low range but cdl that causes the lights and it's only once it's engaged

Yes. But right now I am bridging the wires to see if it engages the light, which it does. But the TC light comes on as well when I do it.

Perhaps I didn't phrase the question well. The wires were broken. Trying to fix them. Two wires go to the switch for the CDL, near the actuator. These should activate the 4WD light when bridged, regardless of what the actual CDL is doing.

I guess I'm not really bothered, but it's never happened before when the wiring was intact, and I'm not sure that engaging 4WD in high range disables TC.

Wish I could find my RAVE disk.

It's the switch that tells the ECU to turn the light on and caused the TC light as well

Not that I ever had the issue but I have heard others speak of corrosion in the back of the fuse panel cause some unusual issues as well

The manual I do have, which is RAVE of some sort, possibly NAS, says this:

Which is more confusing, as it seems to say that the TC and ABS lights will come on. Mine doesn't have the ABS light on when I do this, and I know it works.

I have heard that as well. I was hoping to forget it... Still, I have a spare.

The manual I have seems to agree with that. But I've had the car for 15 years and have never seen it. I'll stop chasing it and move on.

Actually, the car has been OTR for some time, and I have a D1 as well, so perhaps I'm misremembering.
