    Ricr

I have a 2004 TD5 automatic and it normally drives brilliantly. Then it starts to bang hard into first and second gear. It will also fix itself without any difference in my driving. I feel like it might be electrical? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance

It could electrical, one of the main issues it could have would be oil in the ECU plugs.

Other than that the next favourite would be a failing/blocked valve body in the Auto.

Are there any errors logged anywhere? Can't really do much until you have that.

    Assuming it is electrical:
    1. Check the electrical loom for the auto transmission for damage. It runs over the top of the top of the transmission and rubs through to short out.
    2. Check ECU plugs for oil.
