Tyre sizes suitable for a Disco 2

I have a quite standard D2 at present and a set of 265x75R16 MT tyres. I'd like to put them on the standard mag wheels, but not sure if they'll fit without catching on the guards or other parts of the vehicle. Has anyone tried doing this?
Eventually I'll put a 2" lift kit on it, but just wanted to see if these tyres will work ok in the interim. Obviously, rock crawling won't be on the agenda for a while, but a run up the Bridle Track is planned for a couple of weeks.
Appreciate any advice on this. Thanks.

    .....
That's currently what I got on the D2, no problem, either before the sagged 2in lift got replaced with a new 2in lift.

The only change you may have to make is to the steering stop locks so they don't rub on full steering lock. This depends on a few variables, mainly tyre shape, and agressiveness of the shoulders ... like MTs!!
You'll probably find that shoulder lugs may rub on the chassis on full lock.

... anyhow easy tweak to make.

Also, no idea on your experience with Discos, or lifted suspension and whatnot, but from my experience in replacing 2" lift with a 2" lift ... is that they're not all the same.
Quick point, at full flex with the old springs and shocks, ABS and brake lines weren't a problem. Had to flex it to remove old springs, they came out no problem, lines were not stressed.

In go the new springs ... NOT! ... I had to use a spring compressor to get them to slot into position! ie. just in case you miss the point, the new springs flexed a lot more than old ones.
Anyhow, once springs were in, and shocks fitted, not brake lines were stretched to high heaven. Same with ABS lines, but ABS lines just got unclipped and rerouted to save them.
You don't want to stress brake lines tho ... huh?
Anyhow, I ordered new longer, braided brake lines .. no worries now.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!
