Howdy folks, have been quiet but still floating around
Has anyone got any advice on how to replace cable on the smaller half of the back seats? Mine snapped, so the loop handle to fold the seat the whole way forwards no longer works. We have moved cable to poke out underneath the back seats and can use pliers to 'pop' the mechanism for now.
Just wondering on best method to fix it. Seat frame looks all pop riveted and not easily removable. I have found replacement cable, but not purchased yet until know how to replace. My back seats need to fold all the way forwards often to allow my powerchair into the back. Cable broke or a linkage broke at the loop handle part that is stage 2 of seat folding up haha.
Also, any recommendations on where to find replacement steering box? Mines gotten very bad. Have to replace that before engine gets rebuilt. (Old girl still going)ive looked into rebuild kits but don't think just replacing seals are going to help. Think worn internals.
All other linkages along the steering column have been replaced, but steering has just gotten really unpleasantno more tightening left.
Should probably also check steering dampener and tie rod ends but known box has been tired a while too.
Thankyou in advance folks

SubscriberIs there enough wire showing to be able to add some wire with a small cable clamp?
Is the box leaking? as it's usually the pump that gets "tired", or damper stiff, swivel hub ball joints etc.
If that's all good, there should be quite a few decent boxes around on wrecks as they're usually pretty robust.
Im not sure what to attach the cable to, could maybe put a hole in the lever to do that
There's a black panel im not sure how to remove, looks like the pop rivets need drilling out for removal then can probably see where could re attach a cable.
I will check power steering pump, think it has been weeping for ever, does make a slow sort of grinding noise when turns, and doesn't look 'smooth" in that function. Is full of fluid though.
Is this you Epic?
