tried to program a new key,now the car won't start!!

I was unable to program a new key, the sync failed. I was unable to lock the car with the plipper so I used the key in the door. I then unlocked the key again by the door and now the car won't start. The security light is on, full on, not flashing. What did I bugger up and how do I fix this?
    Thanks

Update, I have turned of the Nanocom and now I can lock and unlock all the doors with the key in the door. Still not able to start.

Have you done an EKA code with the key yet? Hopefully that should at least de-securitize (if that's a word! ) ... it.

Got no idea why it would arm the immobiliser in doing the key programming.

With the nanocom, I think it has a spot where it will tell you if the immobiliser is armed or not too.

I did a key on my D2a a few months back, Neither the nanocom or my Autel would sync the key. I reckon I must have tried 20 times or more. Took a couple of days with de-drustration breaks in there somewhere.

No idea why they wouldn't do it, especially the nanocom, which must have done 5 or 6 keys in it's time with me. But for some reason just wouldn't work this time around. They on the second day, it just worked.
Same button pressings, same distances, same car, battery charger always on the car ... just out of the blue, it finally synced and I then had a spare for the D2a. I also got a key for the D2, and brother has the spare on that, but got so frustrated doing the 2a, I totally gave up on even trying the unsynced key on the D2 yet.

EKA? would not have a clue.
Nanocom tells you if it immobilised or not? Can this be reset?
I reset the original key, maybe try that again, it did sync!

Nanocom can read the EKA code. It’s a PITA because you will need the sequence which I don’t remember off the top of my head. I recommend changing it to something simpler like 0000, but not until you have the car going.

The process is on the internet. 0000 will not work! 1111 is better.

Can the Nanocom turn of the immobiliser?

No matter what, it’s a good idea to know your EKA code.
A mate of mine recently called JLR in Gippsland and was given the code, no questions asked. Obviously this would be no use to you if someone one has changed your code in the past, but it worked for my mate.
I don’t think Nanocom will tell you the EKA code unless the BCU is mobilised.

    You may be correct.
as for no questions asked, he was lucky. When a certain indie lost my keys I had to take my DL and registration papers to the LR dealer in Berwick to prove it was my car and then LRA emailed me the code. Of course, he may have already been registered on their system. I wasn’t but I am now. Probably something worth doing. I’m not the first owner.
oh yeah, locksmith was able to cut the key no problem , provided I provided the blank. He had blanks but no plib.

Something to consider, Julian. When you tried program the new key you might have managed to actually deprogran them. Probably not likely but the Nanocom is capable of it. I’m only saying that it might be why the car doesn’t recognise the keys.
