    Success!
On the first try, no beeps the security light on constantly. On the second try, I turned of the Nanocom. I got the beeps. No flashing security light. I timed the 5 mins with my trusty Seiko Automatic Diver's watch. Opened the door turned the key and started the engine. I have read that if you manually lock the car, via the door, the immobiliser kicks in, which could be why it kicked in, in the first place, the plipper does not seem to work. Something else to look at.
Many thanks for the assistance on this, I was getting a bit nervous and young son needs the car to get to his apprenticeship.

Regarding the plipper, the light flashes when the button is pressed. I changed the battery, no improvement. I noticed a few days ago that the unlock was being a bit iffy, working at a distance and then only close and vice versa.
    Anyways I dodged a bullet!

I need to find the other key!

I have ran all the tests via the Nanocom, the key buttons are 'heard' by the BCU

Great! That last issue could be the RF receiver on the roof. Mine was a PITA, wouldn't "hear" the plip unless I was almost touching the car, but the Nano said the signal was being seen. Probably because I was testing it from the driver's seat. I got a new RF receiver and hey presto! Well, after having to remove the bloody head lining to fit it. Now it works from about 50 metres away on a good day.
RF receiver is located at the line where the roof flattens out after the kick up bit. They die due to age or water if you have a sunroof. Or condensation from the wet carpets most of us get. Mine, however, had the earth connection come loose. After I had sourced a new one.... Of course. I changed it anyway. And, no, I don't still have the old one.

    433 MHz, part number YWY000080 I believe.

Oh yes, yes it works sitting in the driver's seat, not outside. Oooh where is the earth for this? as:-
Removing the headliner will be fun, Just remove the cargo barrier.
Removing the cargo barrier will be fun, just remove the draw/fridge cabinet
    Removing the etc. etc .
At least I have the part number!

Or you could just cut the head lining... and sew in a zip!

    It is the fob.

I finally got my arse out of gear and found the missing fob. It locks and unlocks the car with ease. The other one may as well have no battery! The light does flash though.

So you probably missed a step when programming it. Easy to do.....

The old one did unlock with the buttons, not any more. There is a very small amount corrosion on the circuit board, I'll try giving it a clean. Interestingly, it would not start the car this morning. but did when the working fob unlocked the car with the buttons.

Not many fobs available, those that are are expensive!
