99% of the time, it's the diaphragm in the regulator. I have seen the block crack, but it's rare
My fuel pressure regulator is leaking. I changed this around 2013, it being the original from new.
Being an 03 Td5 this then lasted about 10 years.
When I changed it I changed the complete unit with a genuine LR one. At the time it cost around $350.00
My question for any one who might know. Is the diaphragm thingy the only bit that fails.
Rather than buying a complete unit, I was thinking of one of these.

It doesn't leak oil, Its sweating power
As above, and that kit will be fine.
Yours, being a D2a means you should replace the hose going to the front of the head, if it's getting hard, or old.
The easy way is to replace the hose with "EFI" hose clamps x 4 and a length of 3/8" EFI fuel hose.
You can use 10mm EFI hose, but it's a bit loose on the pipe.
You can cut the old swage fitting off (carefully, not cutting into the steel pipe) without having to undo the flange nut on the head.
When I changed it last time the genuine replacement came with the hose that runs along the inlet manifold.
At the time I did not change it. About 4 years ago I changed the engine and fitted the new hose then, so it would still be ok.
