    Ace Pipes

I recently lost all my ACE oil and had the ACE light come on.

Have yet to identify the leak but all the oil was up around the front of the engine, suggesting the high pressure hose from the pump to the valve block.

Anyone done this job. A lot of searching the net poses a lot of questions.

    Here is my list.

1/ RAVE says that to change this hose it needs to be cut out and a new 2 piece hose fitted.
A lot of sellers seem to just have a one piece pipe.
2/ RAVE also mentions about a device in the hose to prevent noise.
Searching, I came across a British forum where someone fitted a Brit part hose and the noise was unbearable.
How do I know if the hose I order has this device to stop noise?
3/There seems to also be problems getting the hose out of the valve block, anyone had experience here?
One suggestion was to cut the pipe and use one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251226630...r=550213574926
    Anyone used these?

I would love to hear experiences from others that have changed this hose.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I see that your's is 2003 MY so it might be fitted with the two piece hose from factory, ypou'll have to check first then all you need is the front part(RQB000280) to connect it to the valve side part as they already have the fittings, if you still have the one piece pipe better cut them and use a compression fitting like in that ebay link to connect the pipes just be aware that the original pipe has 3/8" OD not exactly 10mm and the pressure goes up to 150bar, what ever you do don't remove the pipe from the valve block as long as the leak is in the front part cos once you remove that clamping plate you'll have to fit new ANR6700 collets to all the pipes cos the old ones might be hurt then it can develop a leak there, ask me how i know

Normally all those pipes should have the atenuator within there's no way to check that but as we know britpart can sell some bad products too, it involves a lot of luck these days

I can confirm the noises with an aftermarket pipe. Had a good looking Britpart pipe installed first. And got a real bad Dinosaur roaring... Checked everything and changed a lot of other stuff. Till i read about the attentuator in the OEM pipe. Got a original one and the noises were gone!

So when you have to change the completet pipe, be sure to get a "-G" suffix at the part number.

The G sufffix means nothing these days and can be a lottery, in most cases it's still britpart or allmakes, the genuine ones have LR suffix and some of them are obsolete like the pipe we are speaking about. Maybe some main dealers can find them in an old stock though

Diagnosed the leak. Turns out it was my fault as you will see in the below pic.

About a year ago I was preparing the car for a Simpson desert crossing and I noticed that the part of the top coolant
hose that goes down and joins the steel pipe had been rubbing on something and had severe wear.

So I replaced the hose and put some protection around it using cable ties.

I did not notice that the sharp part of the cable tie was rubbing on the ACE hose.

When this hose it attached to the pump, the damaged bit (circled) will be directly under the cable tie join.

sierrafery, this unfortunately is not a two piece hose as you said it might be.

I have found a few sellers that sell the front pipe only. Does anyone know where this join would end up as I could just buy a high pressure joiner and tap into the existing pipe.

I have found one that sells the rear pipe and it is nearly as expensive as the front.

If you mean the banjo pointed with red it' connected directly to the outlet port of the pump, nr 9
