    Wet Carpet

My carpet in the D2 is saturated. It has not been exposed to rain and it is not coolant.

So the only explanation is air con drains. Coming home from Brisbane the other day I was driving with shoes off and my socks got very wet.

It seems to be much worse closer to the door. There is no sign of wetness closer to the centre near the hevac unit.

I climbed underneath and there was a small drip on the end of the drain. I poked a cable tie up the tube and nothing came out.

The passenger side is also wet.

This may be another issue and not related but I also noted on the trip that the heater was doing funny things. Normally I would have the temps set at 22 to 23 if very cold outside.

This would make the cabin nice and warm. However, on this trip I had it set at 25/26. It was blowing lovely warm air out the floor with cool air at the face vents with cabin just comfortable.

Ambient at the time was 9 degrees. Normally, having temps set at 25/26 I would be cooked.

So before I go to the trouble of ripping out seats, centre console and carpet to find the water source, is there a possible simple solution?
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

That's tricky. When mine gets wet near the A pillar it's either the sunroof drain or the plenum drain under the windscreen is blocked. But that requires it to rain. But not much if the drains are blocked. Did you wash it?

AC drain comes out above the transmission iirc. So in the centre, where you say it isn't wet.

And thanks. It's a sunny day here so I guess I know how I will be spending my day. We HAVE had rain 🙄

When I first noticed it we had had a lot of rain so I suspected that. I checked the sunroof drains and that was ok.

It then went into the shed where it stayed until carpet was dry. I then did a return trip to the Sunshine Coast where there was no rain and the the carpet is saturated.

Sorry. All I can say is check the drains in the plenum.

Before removing seats etc try the "A" pillar drain hole, its located underneath on the inner sill

try using a coat hanger wire or such to unblock

That's the one I have to unblock. The plenum and the sunroof both drain through that little hole that fills up with mud
