D2 td5 ECU and crank angle sensor (north melbourne)

Got a customer (Iskiea) whos in a pinch, and needs diagnostics on her D2, (manual, crank no start fuel pump is making nosies)

Does anyone have a spare ECU for a 99 Discovery 2 td5 and a crank angle sensor. a nanocom or similar would also be appreicaited as a short term loan while The issue gets identified.

I'll be throwing the diagnostics labour as a freebie (ok there'll be coffee and cake)

Cheers for anyone who can assist.
    Dave

Dave, are you looking to borrow all three (ECU, sensor and diagnostic tool), or just borrow the tool?

I have a 2000 D2 Td5 donor vehicle (seized crank from oil pump screw failure), but I'm about one hour from you. Does a 2000 ECU work in a 99 model? I have a 99 as well (that drives daily!), but I've read that the early ECU's are somewhat different to the later ones... (?) I also have a Hawkeye (but I like to keep it pretty close, I must admit).

There is a bit of a chance that I might be passing through your way next Tuesday, but yet to be confirmed. Hopefully you'll find a solution prior...

    Cheers,
    Myles

managed to get a diagnostics unit.

I can talk to the ECU and can read RPM on the crank angle sensor while its cranking on the starter.. The fuel pump sounds easy and when removing the drain plug on the filter theres no pressure on the filter with the ignition on so Im going with a dead fuel pump thats stripped the impeller on the motor shaft.

customer is sourcing a fuel pump and filter.

Check for flow/pressure at the engine side, the symptoms are also common to failed injector washers.

Here's a rudimentary but sometimes relevant way to see if a running pump is working well or not Disco 2 - Check Td5 fuel pump HP | LandyZone - Land Rover Forum
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
