    On what, A disco?

Mines on the pass side up against the bulk head, right in the corner and I dont think Ive seen a Disco with it anywhere else but the early ones could be different as I havnt had much to do with them.

Mine's below the left headlight. Originally you couldn't see it, but since I had the roo-bar installed and they did not re-fit the original inner guard liners, it is very obvious now. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to modify the original guard liners so that I can mount them back in and have them connected to both the bodywork and the roo-bar, because the washer bottle and pump gets covered in mud, which can't be good for the electrics. As a short term fix, I've wrapped it all in Denso tape.

    It's an '02 / '03 Disco TD5 - appears to be original installation.
    Cheers .........

ahchhh so im not going crazy, the reason i ask is that i wonder if i can sling the bottle from my d1 into the same spot and that will give me the space i need for second battery allthough mine has the poly bar if thats what your calling the "roo bar" mmmm

When I bought mine, it had only the standard Landrover plastic bumper bar with an alloy "nudge bar" in the centre. I replaced this with a full alloy bull bar or roo bar (as in photo below) because the HID lights I have vibrated too much on the nudge bar - plus living in Kalgoorlie there are a few skippy's around.

The washer bottle was always located in the same position - has not been moved with the installation of the bar. I haven't had a look at any other D2's, but I assume they're all the same. The filler is immediately above this - to the left of the radiator - between the radiator and the air cleaner box. Can't see any reason you couldn't move your washer bottle to this position, or maybe pick up a bottle from a D2 at the wreckers or somewhere. You'll obviously have to re-route / extend wiring and plumbing to suit. My last one was a D1 V8, but I can't remember where the washer bottle was on that.

If you need - I could stick my head up under the wheel arch over the next couple of days and take a couple of photos of the bottle installation.

    cheers BM,

That would be great if u could, give e some idea rather than chasing down the nearest d2 and asking them if i can "look at their bottle"

It's a 9l bottle with the pourer spout right where you want to place the battery and extending up to just a few mm's below the bonnet. You may fit it, but it won't be an easy fit with a D2 water bottle.

D2 9 Litre water bottle, the engine bay is a tad wider on the D2 than the D1, also the pourer is right where you want to place a 2nd battery in your D1, a battery may fit but from what I can recall of any D1 engine bay layout, you may have to modify the water bottle and have a small battery resting up against the radiator support. I may be wrong as I've never measured the two engine bays up, but I don't think I am.
