Thread: HDC...who uses it?

HDC on a D3 is very usefull, works well, noisey though, the speed is variable by the cruse controle button on the steering wheel, I dont use it a lot as it holds well in the gears, but when it is brown undys time trust it it works.

Wouldn't TC or putting the brakes on hard enough to engage the ABS system exercise the shuttle valves? As both HDC and TC use the ABS system.
Ozscott- the run away auto you experienced was that in a LR or other make? As mentioned before you can lock the LR auto into a particular gear and you will not have the auto run away on you. With a manual trans do you have to have it neutral to use the HDC?

Much easier on the car too just use the HDC and need to be in gear too use the HDC, 1st low, keeps the speed to 7kph.

My experience with HDC is that it needs too be very steep for it to work properly and keep the car at a steady 7kph, if it isn't steep enough it will slow the car too much and then let go and then engage again then let go, becomes a PITA, i'd much rather control the speed with the brakes and or clutch.
