4x4 intelligence rear bar & wheel carrier

A few months ago I purchased one of the newly redesigned steel rear bars a spare tyre carrier & rock sliders from 4x4 intel. I've encountered some serious issues mating the carrier to the bar and the carrier was sent back to get it right. I should receive the rejigged carrier next week but have reservations about how it fits onto the axle attached to the bar, and the placement of the over centre latch handle. Has anybody else ordered & received the same product & would be willing to post some pictures or contact me regarding the product?

I dont have one of the bars, but I know all the guys from 4x4intelligence and am sure they will help you sort it out. Just send them an email.

    Cheers

I know someone else who got this new bar recently and had a HEAP of trouble fitting it. It took a lot of mucking around and some serious modifications.

I will see if I can contact him and get him to contact you.

Thanks Angus, I know they do try hard to get things sorted, Michael was actually up here in Sydney today to fit the carrier & bar personally. But I'm after a few examples to compare how the components look when put together, if anyone has one setup. BTW, it's not a happy relationship I have with 4x4i.

Thanks Walker, please do. I'm on 0403071124. It sounds very much like my situation. If he's finally got things sorted to his satisfaction then there maybe hope yet.

Stevo, it all depends when he go the bar.

The old one was really easy to install and just replaced the rear bumper.

The new one that came out earlier this year is totally different.

Sorry, I had i wrong. My mate had problems fitting the actual bar, not the wheel carrier. He did not buy it with the wheel carrier.

I picked up the rejigged carrier yesterday & fitted it tonight. The beam that the wheel bolts onto is quite long & there's only 2 pre drilled holes either side. This is the closest I can get the wheel to the vehicle.

I've also got the sliders and have just unpacked them - they look excellent! Just need to get them on now!
