    D2 Half-height cargo barrier?

Having resigned myself to holding onto my D2 (the unsellable D2), I am thinking about camping drawers and a cargo barrier. Now, if I have drawers in the back, I don't actually need a full height cargo barrier. Has anyone used one from a different car (e.g. Magna or other smaller station wagon) to do this job? It would want to go from about 2/3 up the rear seats to the roof.

    Any ideas?

    Ta

    Hi Owen
Im getting all the bits together at the moment to do the same.My idea is to have a top half only barrier. If neccesary I will cut my D1 barrier down to suit(it dosent fit the D2 correctly anyhow) but hopefully come up with another instead.Got the dump attendant looking for one.
Once I start building it I will post in projects/tutorials.
Just ordered an Engel slide to make the job a little easier.

    Owen,

I have a surplus D2 Milford Cargo Barrier I was going to put on eBay, PM me if interested...
I have Outback Drawers and a cargo barrier fitted, and found the gap between the barrier and the drawers was a good spot for a flexable 25ltr water bladder.

    Cheers,

    Johnsy

Sooo... what kind of barrier is that one? Also, I note you have a D1, I think the D2 is a little different?

    Hi Owen
Despite the D2 being a bit wider the D1 barrier doesnt fit.I forced mine in when I brought it back from Perth. Its still wedged in there, tried twice to get it out.No need to bolt it in!!!!Its jamed one of the seat releases so may have to remove the seats to free it.
I will be welding the top half onto the frame of the drawer system.Prefer not to butcher the D1 barrier but will if I dont find a replacement locally.

yes ...in the first pics of my barrier it wasn't attached to the draws but in the end it now has been attached to the rear of the draws which in turn as described bolted down via the floor bolts

so landy has a good point it works fine and after my last trip tip povo point...it ant going no where trust me

    cheers
