...no fit sorry.
They are 15" tyres. ( ie that's the size of the hole in the middle ). You have 16" rims on the Disco.
Hi All,
I know there have been a plethora of threads re tyres etc, however...
Currently I have 235/70R16's and I was wondering whether it was possible to put the following tyres on: Mudstar Radial M/T M+S 33x12 50R15LT.
I'm assuming the R16 and the R15 may be the differentiator? SO in a nutshel, would the Mudstars fit on the LR rim?
(Hubby has these on an Fj40 that has been wrecked and are virtually new...and would be good to re-use them if possible)
Thanks for your help

mmmm buggah! me thought so!! Oh well... thanks for the clarification. Thought i'd ask anyway :-)
IF the tyres are good you could always buy steel rims in 15inch for no more then 80 bucks each and probbaly much less because I assume the tyres are worth much more then 100.
You'd also need to do a fair bit to the Disco to get 33" tyres to clear everything.

oops.... wasn't thinking.
I was looking at saving some $'s to be honest and utilising what was around. I think hubby paid over 400 for each tyre new (at sale price) and they are still virtually new as I will eventually need new tyres for the landy. I don't think I will go any smaller on the rim size I like the look of the 16" rims.

okidoki.... worst case scenario - what would be required to put 15" rims w/ the tyres on the landrover? Obviously clearance height with the tyre on the rim will be a major factor. Would they need to be specific LR 15" rims or could I use the ones from his FJ40? Description are they are a steel rim with triangular shapes cut out standard white but are now black rim. God I hope that made sense!! For want of a better description!
Is there a minimum rim size recommended? ... or not!!
Has anyone 'downgraded' the standard rim size from 16" to 15" before and had any problems with a series 2 2001 etc. Does it improve anything (apart from my pocket in the interim if crunch comes to crunch?)
Thanks for your help

The wheels can't be used on the Disco, they have a different stud pattern/size. You can fit 15" rims to a series one Disco, not sure about a series two though. You would require offset rims (the centre of the wheel would need to move further to the inside of the rim to allow for the wider tyre. You may also be needing to look at changing gearing in the diffs due to the tyre height.
Really too much mucking around. What may be your best bet is to try and sell the tyre/wheel package on a general 4x4 forum like outerlimits or good old ebay.
Im with PeterM with this.
I very much doubt you could find 15" rims for a D2, Im not even sure if the calipers will fit within a 15" rim for that matter.
The only way you can fit a 6 stud pattern to a 5 stud hub is to either fit a custom hub (massive dollars), Change the entire axle housings and axles etc to Toyota or Nissan (Massive muck around and massive dollars), fit wheel spacers (not as much money but still pricey) which are not legal in Australia.
As Peter said, flog them off and buy so that will fit.![]()
