I cleaned the plug on the red cable as I said and throttle response is now much better but I am thinking I will purchase a new cable even if only lasts 12 months I reckon it will be worth it. I see someone has mentioned an aftermarket cable around 200-300 dollars would you happen to know where I could get one.

    Thanks

Hi Ken, an AMR6103 injector harness is RRP $148 from a Dealer last time I checked. I would just replace this one(Inside the rocker cover) as it is the root cause of the oil in the engine harness. Also, check the MAF sensor and the ambient air sensor(In the airbox lid) conectors for oil, I have seen it get all the way into these too!
If you replace the injector harness and clean all the other plugs, you may just have to clean them again in a few months time but that should then be the end of the problem. It is a LOT cheaper than renewing the whole engine loom...

    Hi

I have just cleaned the MAF sensor element in my TD5 using contact cleaner and a cotton bud. I had no issue that I was aware of. The car is running much better now, seems smoother, pulls better and is more keen to rev.

Worth checking as it's a simple 10 minute job.

    Cheers

    Lack of throttle

    Hi Guys

I have ordered the new harness $143.00 from 4WD Middleborough. I will check the MAF sensor etc and replace the cable and hopefully have a good outcome.

    Thanks to all.

Over here the throttle pot DO give some problems and driver demand errors come and go.

Has anyone fitted a 3 stage onto pre-facelift models and does it make a difference ?

Glad you found the culprit - now just remove that egr engineering afterthought electronische thing !
