    fitting snorkel

    gay jsut got my safari snorkel for my d2 i did the one on my gq just wondering how hard they are to fit? ie taking the iner gaurd off

    Its very straight forward on the D2. The inner guard has some funny clips where the centre pulls out before the rest of the clips comes free. Follow the template, the only thing that I will say, is that you dont need to drill the guard 16mm or whatever it specifies for the bolts I'm pretty sure that I only drilled mine 12mm or 1/2" and it was fine. There is a space that goes between the inlet tract and the snorkel, where it passes through the inner guard, and its worth spending some time and silicon in getting this done right.

    Snorkel with TD5 - any increase in KW/Torque?

    Anyone fitted a snorkel and to Disco TD5 & noticed any improvement in Kw or torque output?
    Most decent snorkels act like an airscoop, which should pre compress air before turbocharger. This plus cooler (hence denser) air at roof level should increase engine output at cruising speeds.
