Warning Lights On Dash - Help Needed!

Hi everyone, Merry christmas to all, all the best for the new year.

Have an issue I hope someone can point me in the right direction or suggest what may be going on.

I have had three dash warning lights all come on together with the repeating chime. (TC, HilDesent, ABS) it first did it a couple of weeks ago, and upon switching the car off the fault cleared itself.
Subsequently it came on again yesterday, same again, then this morning it keeps constantly coming on every time after I clear the fault by turning the car off then on again.

I think it's related to the ABS as the warning lights come on under brake application. This morning with it being wet maybe lead to it coming on frequently. I would guess when the warning lights are on it have no ABS as the pedal feels slightly lighter and I skidded slightly when trying to test to see what was going on.

Any suggestions? Its is a common issue?

    Big or small problem?

    Thanks
    JB.

    Search is your friend.
ABS, HDC, TC are often referred to as the 3 amigos.

And yes, it's a very common problem.

Actually, sorry to but in on the thread, but what causes the hazzard lights to come on after a big jolt.... such as a big landing off a sand dune

That's the intertia switch doing it's job.
Usually cycling the ignition will clear the hazards but some models need to have the switch manually reset.

I'm laughing very nervously that this is a common issue, and the fact that it has a term named for it.

However searching through the threads it does'nt indicate what the issue is if the ABS is not working, which I assume is the case.

It's obviously sensors, or the shuttle valve I am hoping. The fact that it only comes on with harder brake applications and stays off when reset with the ignition makes me think it could be something more serious with the ABS?

Problem is all LR specialists are closed until the 5th as far as I am aware.

I have had mine on for about 3 years now, had it fixed once by the dealer and they came back on. Ill fix it when i get a nanocom, im pretty sure its just an abs sensor. But it doesnt bother me too much, i still have abs and traction control. The only thing i dont have is HDC, which i dont use anyway. Dont panic about it too much, i got used to the christmas lights display on my dash

It shouldn't / may not be a major issue.

I had it on mine, so following one of the threads I changed the shuttle valve switch (about $100 from British 4WD - advertiser on this forum)

I replaced the switch with the ABS unit in the car..............however it was not the fault - the old switch was fine with the correct readings when tested with the meter.

So I took the side off the ABS module - again without removing from the car, and no loss of fluid, to check the pins to see if they were sound - they were correctly positioned, and still fixed - on another thread - the pins were loose, so I just cleaned them with some sandpaper, then alcohol, put it all back together - and bobs your uncle - it hasn't come back.

You can remove the switches easily and if you have a meter you can check the resistance

With neither switch depressed you should see approx 3.0 ohms, with either switch depressed you should see 2.0 ohms, and with both switches depressed you should see 1.0 ohms.

To remove the switch you will have to raise the abs module a bit to get you the clearance you need, but if you release the pipes from the clips on the firewall there is enough play to allow you to do this quite safely

    Thanks ladas,
Can you guys tell me where the ABS Module etc is located, or even a pic?
Also the same with the ABS sensors or anything else I should check.

I would like to be able to start solving issues with this car myself, as I think the LR specialists will just replace rather than attempt to fix?

    Cheers

I would opt for a faulty or misaligned sensor as well.
