I have run the Toyos on my 300Tdi. Very good road tyre and general dirt roads but not that good on the rougher roads. I did 2 (completley bu%##ered) on the Gibb River road. One (5,000Klms) split the side wall from rim to tread and the second (300 Klms) tore a complete lug off. Have now gone to BFGs, at least they look like an All Terrain tyre and have not had any problems with them
I did 9000 km (mostly bitumen) in a D2 TD5 auto fitted with Toyo OPAT in 235/70 16. No complaints.
Bigjon hope you got more than 9000klm out of them.

I'm running Toyo Open Country H/T tyres 255/65R16 on my D1. I drive primarily on sealed roads and they handle great, low tread noise and good ride comfort. However, I don't think I'd want to rely on them for any seriously rough off-road stuff.
I had the toyo opats. Mainly highway work. They seemed to wear very quickly. Ditched them for the BFG A/T's. Seem much better.
Toyo OPATS on a [ 80 ] series [sorry for swearing] towing 23ft van and medium off road and lots of gravel roads .... 100748kms. These were the 10ply ones. Any one considering offroad A/T tyres imo should always go for the 10 ply. Bob H
