broke the bottom nipple off my reservoir last night. they aren't in stock where we are and we really need to get going today. anyone know if any other models fit ? i read on ebay that rangerover is the same up to 02, but apparently the TD5 has 2 different types
coolant res, broke the nipple that feeds the hose to the oil cooler
was going to just block it off, but figured thats not a good call. tee'd into one of the heater hoses, but not sure if thats good either, hard to tell which way the coolant goes and whether i have ended up setting up a loop for this water. guess i need to get the correct part and put it back to stock.
You probably could repair it, but would you trust it, I wouldn't, unfortunately the D2 coolent/expansion tank is only a D2 part, you should be able to get a secondhand one pretty easily, I can't imagine they would be that expensive, different story if buying new from a dealer though.
Give AMV in Vic or T.R.Spares in Padstow a call, I've always had good service from them and their price are very good.

The coolant reservoir p/n PCF101420 for the D2 TD5 appears to be specific to the TD5 Disco, i.e., not shared by other models. The V8 D2 uses a different tank (same as P38A RR). That part no. is for models up to 2002. I don't have a parts list for later cars.
Probably too late to call Trivetts at Parramatta.

cheers, thanks guys, picked one up from the ever reliable bundalene. very pleasant gentleman to deal with![]()
This is an unusual one. The coolant tank supplied for the TD5 came out of a V8 with 2 outlets at the bottom - one large and one small. I haven't seen this before on TD5 coolant tanks, (they normally have one large - about 1/2 inch) outlet at the bottom. Having said that, I was happy I could help out.

I've fitted a D1 tank to a Td5 D2 once, so I could use the RR water level sensor/ cap to fit a low level alarm. It was a bit out of place looking in the d2 engine compartment, but is still working well in the vehicle some 5 years on.
