If you are looking to replace this because the door doesn't open with the handle. Check this out.

It is because this little spring breaks preventing the latch from returning correctly. Spent about 4 hours last Sunday pulling my door and locks apart to discover this.

    Hope this helps.

I would be looking at somewhere other than where you are going to get it done, like a fuel injection specialist. DA is not my choice at all.

I will have a chat with one of my fuel injection guys at work who worked for JRA for years and see if he knows of similar issues.

    Cheers

footnote, have you checked the glowplugs and connections as well?? If the plugs arent heating enough then cold starting will be an issue.

Also, forgot to ask, 200, 300 or TD5??

Cheers Warren...unfortuantely it's the same thing that happened to the driver's side when I bought it and it will not unlock with the remote so most the likely the solenoid (but of course, that's not a separate item ), it unlocks using the internal lever and if it had a keylock on the outside, that would probably work too!

Andrew, sorry Td5 (must donate again to get my sig back!!). As mentioned it's had new washers for the injectors (as in metal washers not 'o' rings) and this has certainly improved it but not completely solved it and on the same day can vary from silent priming of the system to a yowl from the pump - at which point I wonder "how many times will I need to prime and crank it till it starts?" but it's behaved for a week now, apart from the noise. Which according to Murphy's Law means it'll probably play up tomorrow . Maybe I'll take the Wrangler tomorrow...

Haven't checked the glow plugs, but the event has occurred when the engine has been both cold and hot (when it would not have required the plugs to fire).

Any suggestions gratefully accepted!! My trust/faith level (and more importantly that of my GF & her 2 girls is diminishing).
    Cheers

Had a chat with the guys. Check (if you can) if there is any air getting into the line near the fuel filter. As these are a gear drive Delphi pump, aparently the seals go and are prone to sucking air.
An airlock will obviously make it hard to start.
The "howling" is aparently caused by... you guessed it.... air getting in the pump!!

If you PM me your VIN number, I will run it thru Microcat and have a look for info for you.

    Cheers

    Andrew.
