I used an inverted cruise control switch.
Hi,
just starting to plan some driving lights and was wondering if anyone knows if the Auxiliary light switch in the Binnacle in the D2a (2003) is a latching switch or momentary? I think in the D2 it was momentary but on Expedition Exchange the D2a switch is about 5x the cost of the D2 switch and one suggestion is this is because it's latching and not momentary.
Hoping that makes sense and someone might be able to confirm this or otherwise
Thanks, Andy

The driving light switch is a momentary switch. The best solution is to buy a cruise control and swap the fascia over. The CC switch has the light as well so the out come is the same.
The standard LR driving light loom actually goes via the BCU which is then told that driving lights are configured and hence the momentary switch.

I had the ash grey in my D2a and hardly noticed the difference to the rest of the black switches. Try getting it from the UK or even locally as US$70 is about twice what I'd expect the AU price to be. UK would be the cheapest I paid about AU$18 for the equivalent for my new Defender from the UK including freight.

The Ash grey additional lamp switch Part No STC50098 is less than £5 from the dealer. The difference in colour is VERY minimal tbh.
For an example I added the "facelift" fuel flap switch to my TD5, and that is black, here you can see "how" different it actually is. In a "darker" light, is even less noticable, and because the lamp switch will be on the other side, I bet even less noticable again......

EDIT............ Just checked the retail price for the Black switch is around £26 Part No VVN500060 for a RHD, dunno why its more as its exactly the same as the first one.
