I dont know but maybe Range Rover drivers are not considered Land Rover owners, 'cause I don't see many returns either.
I have been here in Vic High Country for just over a week and have never recieved a return wave yet, I have had more waves from none Land Rover owners, we saw at least 5 yesterday in Sale and 2 today at Dargo not one waved back, I reckon it's all bull

I get just as many waves (and quite a few out in the West of Brissy and on the Island in particular - Straddie, Fraser etc) in my D2 with 31' Maxis, TJM black steel bullbar with twin Cibie Super Oscars (the bar saved me from a roo last night incidentally) and UHF aerial (hardly extreme but clearly not a stock vehicle) as I do in my 95 D1. Many of the D2 owners out our way seem to get the concept. I agree however that there are some newer Deefers getting around with some pretty snotty drivers whose weekday vehicle is a RR Sport and the Deefer is for the horse floats and getting muddy towing the twin to the horse days...forget about a wave generally from them. I wave anyway to them, but less than 10% wave back and if they do they probably dont know its an LR thing.
Cheers
PS. 80% I reckon of the drivers of the older deefers, D1's etc waive to me about the same time as I wave.
Just completed a bit over 1,000km round trip from west Melbourne out to the Otways, driving around the area for a few days and back again. Passed at least 30 Discovery's, of which vast majority were D2's. Not one waved back.
Got waves from 60-70% of all Defender & County's we passed, even a couple of farm hacks loaded (overloaded?) with hay.
Got a wave off a RR Sport... after he worked out I was flashing my lights because there was a cow on the road![]()
i'm not normaly a waver tis just to dificalt with one hand on the acelarator and brake and the othe on the wheel i tend to nod but if some one waves i make a effot to try and wave back
i just lift the one finger(pointer finger) with my hand on the steering wheel normally.but i think we should get a special aulro wave
