265/75's will fit onto a 6" rim (although 8" is better) and will fit onto a serie 2 Disco provided it does not have a standard front bumper. If the vehicle has a bullbar then all good and fine although you may experience the occasional rubbing on the wheel arch plastics and on the steering arm (just adjust the steering stops and this will fix the steering arm rub)

The injector harness can be cleaned by running Shellite through it - search the forum - there is plenty of info as this topic has been discussed ad infinitum.

Do you mean 7 inch rim? as the discos came with 16x7 inch as standard.

As Franz said though, you can fit 265/75/r16s fine. It will have less rubbing with a bullbar and a 2 inch lift though...

As for the loom, shop around for a price. If your technically inclined you could do it yourself if you have the RAVE cd. But also, as Franz said, flushing it with shellite or something similar can buy you time...

I was more worried that the 265's would rub on the radius arm at lock. I know that these tyres rub on lock on defenders and the disco S1 as I've had them on both. We have a bit of a vehicle/tyre love triangle going on at the moment. We all want to swap tyres but my mate with the D2 dosn't want the 265's if they are going to rub on full lock

I'm going to clean the harness out and keep it as a spare, however from expearience I've found that once oil has gotten up into the copper strands it's almost impossible to remove.

Yep, 7" is correct - I was having a senior's moment I think.

The 265's will rub on the radius arm at full lock but you can fix that by adjusting the the stop bolt.

Ive got 265's on with a 2" lift and standard bumper. I can see the rubbing, (minor) on the front suspension arms. This occurs on the inside wheel in turn. Can anyone pop a quick photo up of the bolt i need to adjust? They did rub on the inside front of the front guard, (no, not a typo). They do not reach the bumper itself, but the outside wheel when turning will rub the lining of the guard at the front. Have attached a photo of the trim i made to preven this. Obviously with a bullbar, this lower section of the lining would have been removed.


the guard lining is quite soft and easily cut.

Thanks a heap guys, pretty much answered my my suspisions.

I think I'm going to have to sell the BF Goodrich AT and get something else. They have more than 75% tead left, what's a good asking price for these? I have seen them for $180 with only 20% tread at tyre shops. However I'm not greedy and would just like to get a little money to help buy some new road tyres for the wifes disco (she has my coopers ATM)

hi - whats the correct tyre size for the D2 02 model - what tyres size did they come with as standard... thinking of fitting some earlier RR P38 rim and tyres but mine are 75 tall the RR are 70 shorter but mine are 225 wide RR wider still at 265. would the off set on the P38 be the same as the D2 rim. how will fitting taller tyres effect speedo readings... are the wider tyres any better.. cheers

If you have a standard version then it will have 235/70R16 tyres on 7" rims. Later models came with 255/65/R16 tyres which is the same size as the P38 (I run a set of P38 8" rims on my 2004 Disco). To the best of my knowledge the offset on the P38 rims is identical to the Disco rims.
