4lt excess fuel problem solved
could not work out why i started to use so much fuel on my disco2 4lt petrol,
i found a small gumnut had got into the radiator system and logged itself in the inlet neck of the small water jacket that sits under the throttle body, so restricting water flow to it thus sending a wrong temp message to the throttle mixture

Huh?
The small water jacket under the throttle body is only there to stop icing in wet near zero temperatures.ie things that happen in Europe not OZ
There are no temp sensors around there.
I believe there is a temp sensor in the MAF of a 4.0 litre , but if you now have better economy it is not because of the water jacket at the throttle body.

The point is he is getting better fuel economy. THats a marvel in itself!!
Teach me that trick. Im still very much in love with the sound of the V8. I used to bury the foot to the floor in my old 455ci V8 and never tire of it.
