    Help!!Left or right thread

    Hi Guys ,

I am just fitting a new rear axle hub to my series 2 Disco. All going well but I dont know if the stake nut ( end of axel ) is left or right threaded. Doesnt say in the RAVE rear axle section. Its very tight and I dont want to break anything. I could do with some urgent info on this so i can eat my dinner

    Thankyou

    Thanks guys.

Its very very tight so I just pulled the whole axel assembly out and will take it to work and get the fitters to have a go at it tomorrow. They can press the old hub off for me as well if required.

Strangely the hub dosent feel like there is anything wrong with it but it leaked all the grease out of it onto the brakes about 10,000 ks ago. Its been making a bit of a growl driving. But doesnt seem top have any tight spots.

Hope its not the other side at $ 450 a pop there not cheap.

    All Done

All fixed got the fitters to pull the nut off. No wonder it was tight 360 lb ft to be exact. had to put the axel in the press to tighten up the new one.

Thanks to the Ertech fitters and the guys at Discovery Auto for the parts at a reasonable price. Hub $451 nut $10.80

Only took 15 mins to reassemble and the noise is gone.
