    D2 Long Range Fuel Tanks

I have just purchased a pair of pre-loved Long Ranger tanks for my D2 V8. Tanks are TA56 and TR56. Does anyone here have any experience of fitting them, or have a set of fitting instructions? Specifically is it better to fit the small tank first or after the large one, and are there any special traps to note?
    Thanks in anticipation.

I have a PDF of the instructions I can email you if you like. Just PM Me your details.

The fit is aparently pretty straight forward as long as you have the right lifitng equipment, also check to make sure all the hose fittings are brass. Th plastic ones rot pretty quick smart.

The tanks are really really heavy so you will feel it in the rear springs and a tip might be to give them a good coat of paint as mine seem to be showing a bit of rust!

    D2 Long Range Fuel Tanks

    Ian,

Thank you very much for the offer. Long Ranger very graciously emailled me a copy of the instructions over night, so I have them already. But thank you very much for your help.

I already have polyair bags on the rear which I fitted for camper trailer towing. Do you think they will suffice for the extra weight, or do you think I will need to upgrade the coils?

    Cheers,
    Terry

    Grumndriva,

So what is your fuel capacity now? Am I right in thinking its 163L?

How much did they cost and was it easy to fit?

    D2 Long Range Fuel Tanks

    Hi Gingz,

I paid around $900 for the tanks used from TRS. The capacity is 163 litres or thereabouts. They are relatively easy to fit technically, but very fiddly first time around. The hardest part is working out how to lift the tanks and fit the nuts and bolts at the same time if doing it on your own. It took me a day and a bit working full time to do the whole job.

I have written an illustrated guide to how I fitted mine. If you are interested, PM me your email address and I will email it to you.

    Cheers,
    Terry
