Best fuel economy I've got for yonks :D
Managed to bring home about 50kg of the border track :D
Of course that is what didn't fall off on the highway between Keith and Adelaide, one peanut in a Grand Vitara who was tailgating me got a surprise when a chunk of Clay/mud came free and smacked in bumper
Now I have a few extra thing on my list to do on leave, replace missing mud flap and front wheel arch moulding that went missing, replace drivers side headlight lense that cracked and replace rear shocks that definitely felt like they were only there to stop the springs falling out
Many years ago I had a Series 1 Disco TD300 manual which served me well in its 174,000 km before I sold it...
So when I needed a vehicle to tow around a trailer every day for my Car cleaning & detailing business I started looking at Series 2 Disco's..
Initially I wanted a TD5 but decent ones were hard to find in the price bracket I wanted... so when I spotted this MY2000 ES 4 Ltr V8 I made an executive decision and snapped it up...
I haven't detailed her yet... and there are is a growing list of minor items I need to attend to... more fiddly than anything at this stage.
At 198,000 km she runs well... I love this forum... so informative...

Bought in May 2011 and had quite a few (mis)adventures. Has been to Sydney (from melb) and back with a malfunctioning turbo, cracked the studs on the exhaust manifold, gone through 2 water pumps, 1 rear hub, 2 SLS bags, fuel cooler o-rings, fuel pressure regulator, 2 headlights, flooded the passenger footwell after the vent cracked and recently got a strip down to receive a new head gasket, new oil cooler gasket and o-rings, it's second water pump (which was second hand when installed) and a complete flush of the coolant and the intercooler. Here's to hoping for better reliability :twobeers: (Maybe this is how Stockholm Syndrome occurs...)
Mods:
Central diff lock lever
ARB Bullbar
35W HID Spotlights
Daylight running lights
ARB half roof rack.
4300K HID headlights
EGR pipe removed
Flashed ECU
And a bunch of stickers me and my mates use to poke fun at others/each other.
Wont be doing much extra at the moment to try and keep some costs down.
Can't believe I've never posted in here, but anyway here's my D2.

Started on making the bracket for compressor/breather/winch air solenoid/air distribution & catch can mount.

https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/im...13/11/1634.jpg Need to move alarm horn and bracket, which is reused to mount it back under the base of the plate. Trimmed down and welded on the underside. The mounting bracket fits onto the two bolts at the bottom of the black cover plate with two retained nuts to hold the mount down. There will be a tab added to go to the bolt above the cut out switch an under the front edge another to bolt it down to the arch, button head cap screws from underneath so no snags on tyres.
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/im...13/11/1635.jpg You can see the bracket removed. Also the clip for the ABS plug/socket can stay but it's underneath, I've drilled a hole in the side and will move the clip to there. The blue air line on the right runs down to the winch free spool.
The breather lines (diffs/tfr/auto) run to the manifold and a line will run into the snorkel and up to the top. The compressor inlet and the solenoid dump run into the cabin into a tee-piece and draw/dump through the compressors original filter.
