I have Dobinson springs, they are going well, I have had them in for about 4 years now.

I got them as a set with the shocks, and they were matched well, by that I mean that at full flex, (shock fully extended) it was just at the limit of the brake lines and abs line.

With fitting bigger springs, you will need longer shocks, but as long as they are not long travel shocks you should be ok.

Not sure where you live but MR Automotive at Redcliffe in Brisbane have a good range of terrafirma shocks at a good price and they have the knowledge to match the right ones to your vehicle.

do you run the linear dobinson springs front and rear? and also mate What is the height of yor D2 with the lift kit under ityo the top of the Rails?

G'day all,
I've been on the forum for 6 months now, and had a Disco 2 for 9 days less, and FINALLY got some photos to post here:wasntme:
When I got it, my 2000 D2 TD5 auto had the TJM bullbar, small hella driving lights, safari snorkel, chassis mounted rock sliders, John Davis CDL linkage, dual battery system, new turbo, new greasable front tailshaft, cracked rear tail light, broken rear bumper, 7 seats, SLS, new tyres (unfortunately road tyres only) 165 000 km, all for only $9500!!

Since then, rear seats removed, coil conversion, 2" lift, engel fitted in the back, new canvas seat covers, hellas moved to roof light bar with amber beacon, new Narva Ultima 225s fitted to the bullbar, EGR blanked, UHF CB fitted, digital voltmeters front & rear to monitor both batteries, enginesaver, and new rear bar being built, loosely based on Slunnies design (Thanks mate).
Finally the photos...Took these on a local fire trail earlier today. Didn't lower the tyre pressures and the passenger front tyre is about 5mm off the ground. Totally road oriented tyres, but its surprising (to me) how far you can actually get with them. 12000km since I got it, & can't get new tyres until these wear out (thanks SWMBO):D:D mmm - maybe if I destroy them off-road....

Nice. What's the tyre size and lift do you have there?

255/85/16,about 7cm lift.
