    TD5 Viscous fan pulley failure

    Hi guys,

After changing engine belt, I had noticed the Viscous fan pulley is loose .
Some guys told me I must change the timing chain cover but doing some reading, there is a possibility replacing only the bearing .
Is there any special tool I need to extract the bearing out of the timing chain cover? does anyone did this procedure in the past?

    Thumbs up

I must be the only one that has had this go as well yes you can get it out on its own the bearing is held in place with a circlip bitch to get out as it tucked in be hind every thing I made up a lever out of a small peice of steel [remove fan and use bolt holes where fan is [ and let it rest up against the crank shaft pullywhile undoing it with a 12mm allen key .to put it back in place put the bearing withn stub assembley assembled in the freezer for 1/2 hr then warm the housing up with a blow torch not red hot just warm grab unit out of freezer and a gentle tap it will go straight in re-asemble and all all good
