Doesnt sound good.
Check to see if the eletric booster fan is running all the time when the motor is running with the climate control off.If it is the ECU has detected an overheat and will run the fan automatically till the fault is cleared.
The power drop also indicates the ECU protecting the motor.
At running temp CAREFULLY squeeze the top radiator hoses,do they feel like there under alot of pressure???? Indicates exhaust gas pressurizing the system.
Put a small plastic drink bottle over the drain tube on the header bottle, monitor it for spitting coolant out.It could be air pockets forming in the cooling system are masking the loss of coolant.
Other possible causes, stuck thermostat or faulty radiator cap.
Unfortunately head gasket failures are common on the TD5,mine has been done.
Goodluck
