Would the brakes feel spungy if there is air in the modulator?
    The brakes feel "normal"

Did some tests at the club track.
2nd low seemed a bit fast but no traction problems and not even the traction control light came on and no abs type noises but it felt as something gave extra traction.
Funny feeling though and it seemed to be the brakes grabbing the loose wheel.
1st gear low, got stuck every time.
    Was this momentum and/or TC?
I am very happy with the results.
Makes me rethink fitting bigger tyres. 30.5" against the current 29.5".
Bigger=faster=bumpy. Diff changes here are like hens teath.

    Nice one...

You'll find that it was mainly momentum but the higher gearing also reduced the potential for torque spin.

BTW - We refer to the "TC" light as "Talent Control"...

i.e. When you run out of talent, the car has to take control.

I on purpose whent for the deepest section of the cross over to see the D2's ability.
But still I find the TC (ie. traction control) not as good as I have heard.
The talent part is in the making and still learning.

Did it again with the worst line to see what happens.

    Nothing, 1st L, stuck.
    Nothing, 2nd L, stuck.
TC, 2nd L, did it but momentum required.
CDL, 2nd L, did it but less momentum required.
CDL, TC and 2nd L no talent was required other then keeping engine running and vehicle straight.

Imagine what the D2 could do with more talent.

From personal experience, I have found that TC works best in 2nd, when you have a bit more momentum. If I try a difficult hill in 1st and just try to crawl up slowly, I need to keep the revs up otherwise the engine will just stall. I am only just getting used to TC, as the three amigoes visit me frequenty. When those lights are on TC only works partially, but it is still effective in some way.

    Cheers

yesterday i took the D2 for a strap in the bush and i got STUCK!! 5 hours later i got out...by a Suzuki Jimmi LOL did i mention i was in 350mm of water

Stupid TC, the front wheels had soild traction, but the rear was stuck on a rut... 2 back wheels spinning, TC would not stop the back wheels and send the power to the Front!!! SO ****ED OFF!

after that i started to notice that TC would not lock the back wheels when in the air, But TC for the front wheels locks every time... I have had this car since new and TC got me out of EVERY SITUATION other 4x4 make owners were gobsmacked!! Never let me down when it was new!!!

also in heaving breaking on the Road ABS comes on then out of the blue it just breaks even harder... very strange..

could this be air in the lines??? or TC pump... PLEASE HELP!

All of the above photos and descriptions - mine is an 02 manual with no CDL...mine does not get stuck in situations like those above photos. The first axle twister on flat ground is particularly suspect for that vehicle...mine walks through that stuff with ease...I can stop fully twisted on the flat and it will come out using traction control...it requires constant and not insignificant accelerator...it seems to ramp up the actuation after a few seconds if the wheels without traction are still having problems and it gets more aggressive (PROVIDING you dont back off at all on the loud pedal) and then it just gets going...the other photo would be harder if it is steep AND twisted as it looks, but etc is still going to be a BIG help compared to unlocked and open diff vehicles and as for that last one I cant recall having no traction at all on the rear and all on the front, but I suspect that the system might struggle with no traction on the rear at all...I dont think it will brake both rear wheels at the same time in order to send drive to the front...that might be the one weakness where CDL might have helped.

    Cheers

PS. The etc system is heavily dependant on there being no air in the modulator and lines...

Cheers - requires testbook of similar to power bleed the system and modulator
