How is the sound level when mounted in the map pocket? Do you need an external speaker?

I thought i would have needed a external speaker but it seems just loud and clear enough without one, might put one up there if i can find a small one and a neat spot to put it

SubscriberI have my UHF and VHF setup on the roof console. Body of TX3400 attached under dash and just used a CAT 5 cable to extend the factory lead upto the head unit.
