Watching this with interest as I need some new ones for the rear.
The f4-BE5-5248-H5 have an open length of 658mm and closed of 404mm so bump stops may need to be extended a little

    cheers

At the moment I have no drama with the fronts.

My current Issue is the existing shocks topping out at the rear.. but they don't at the front. ( I currently have standard length billies all around)

I will probably do the fronts, but I'll get the rears which I need, make sure all is good first.

    D2 SLS lift Billies

I'm a bit slow, but after reading all the good stuff in this thread I am still not sure what model Shocks are recommended for the rear of a D2 with SLS and a 30-50 mm spacer lift. Thanks for any help.

the shocks above should be 255/103 valving... so the 170/60's might be a bit soft..

see if you can get closer to the 255/70 or 275/78.

    cheers phil

So the F4-BE5-6248-H5 which are the same lengths but 255/70 valving sound like the go.

this would not be an issue for me as i would find a way to modify the mounts.

    D2 are 12mm

    Hi John,
If buying bilstein shocks in australia you need F4-BE5-B994-MO (front) & F4-BE5-B995-MO (rear) for an airbag model with 2" lift, this is what I have bought. If you wish to buy from US then like Phil said post 16 has the part no.
    Cheers Matt

    OK,

I know I've been slack - not getting back to this. But I've been a little side tracked.

Anyway - we are making progress. I have a pair of the F4-BE5-6248-H5 Bilsteins from the US.

The shocker rubbers have steel sleeves that go into them for the bolts to go through. While the Discovery has 12mm bolts - the hole in these is slightly larger - only probably 1mm.

I am going to source new sleeves before installing as I figure i am asking for trouble with any movement in there ( top and bottom.)

Unfortunately I cant steal the parts of the shocks coming out as they are different.

I'll update again once they are in the car.

    Cheers, Mark

The crush tubes in the bushes are 1/2" which is a fraction larger than the 12mm D2 bolts. While they are out, I would highly recommend changing over to poly bushes on these as those rubber ones will flog out very quickly. I use the Superpro bushes in the same size which have been good so far, though the stiff red Rancho ones are my fav's as they are totally durable but I'm not sure if you can get them in the small bush like what these ones run. The D2 works really well with stiff poly bushes in the shocks, unlike the other Rovers.
    Cheers
