    G'day imatt,
Just wondering if you have any issues at full drop with these shocks?, did you have to lengthen the brake hoses, ABS cables etc?
I have been told that to run these shocks I will have to change the brake hoses?
    Cheers

It's touch and go using these shocks on the rear and I left mine for a while and then decided to get longer brake and ABS lines. At full droop the lines were quite tight.

I would suggest you get longer brake and ABS lines for the rear.

    Cheers,

    Cheers Franz

My Billies are currently off getting modified as they were topping out at off road height, hopefully they come back O.K?

For an SLS fitted D2 Those 994/995 Bilsteins are good for a 40mm lift but are too short for a 50mm lift according to the research i did in search aulro.

From an earlier post on the subject.

just some info re the 994/995 bilstein shocks v stock heights mentioned earlier.

The "standard LR shock on SLS rear is 570/360. open/closed"

But when the sls is let down to the bumpstops the shock only closes to 420! I measured it.

the "extended" BE5B994 (front) are 618/388 and
    BE5B995 (rear) are 615/390.5mm ,
    opened/closed respectively.

so in the extended bilsteins there appears to be enough extension for a 40mm lift of the sls. and they close enough for the 420mmm physical down limit

(According to the counter guy at heasmans in sydney (yesterday) the billy 994/5 is their part number, they developed the shocks specifically for a 40mm lifted sls D2 that is still capable of using off road mode height?)

(If stock 570mm top out handles off road mode height, 618mm in the billies should handle 40mm lift and off road mode right?).

Al ... correct me if I'm wrong, but that means the BE5B995 (rear) can be fitted to a non-lifted / std ride height D2 with SLS ... right?

Got open/closed measurements for the std front LR shocks ??

Yes they will fit fine but are specifically made to be used with a lifted SLS D2 up to 40mm, so they maybe more expensive than the shorter travel model, check with heasmans in sydney for the shock for standard non lifted SLS.

I talked with the guys at heasmans and they said the 995 shock is specific to Australia for the 40mm lift in an SLS D2.

Bilstein shock absorbers - Sydney Shock Absorbers is the Australian distributor of Bilstein shocks

Sorry I don't have travel specs for standard front shocks at hand but they are posted on here somewhere, I'll have a look.

    stock front 330(closed)-548(open)

But don't quote me it just a repost of someone elses numbers.

    Cheers

P.s. The standard bilstein front shock can be sourced cheaply from the states , there is a bottle of red in the search results ,or two if you are greedy.

Just wondering Franz where I could find ABS and Brake line extensions?
    Thanks

I'm sort of happy with the left rear in the amount of Break and ABS lines I can manipulate down for the extension but the right ABS in particular is proving difficult to wangle any extra play so wonder who does these extensions?

I purchased the ABS line extensions from a US vendor and had the brake lines made up at a local brake shop.
