Oh, what a feeling...
No, not a tojo - a new battery.
While I have been laid up, the only distance my car has gone is to SWMBO work, which is about 4 mins from home.
She went out the other day, turned the key, and nothing. Battery was as flat as a runway.
Did some internet shopping, made some phone calls & ended up with a nearly new yellow top Optima. Wasn't looking for one specifically, but the price was right (so right, that I got 2
). They are only 6 mths old, and were being used by a guy who is experimenting with electric cars. He even gave me a copy of the original reciept for warranty purposes.
But now it feels as thou the car has more power. Starting is certainly much easier. The old battery was the original, and is >5 years old.
I don't know if I am imagining it, but the pick-up seems better, and there appears to be more power from the motor.
Would a battery that is on it's last legs, draw power from the motor, or am I just wanting to think that things are better?

if life could be a dream........
my understanding is the battery is only required to get the rig running, beyond that it is being recharged by the alternator. would not expect you to see any difference in peformance.
interested to here from the lecky's out there...
cheers
