I had to get the 3 amigos fixed last year when I purchased mine from NSW (for rego purposes in QLD). It turned out that the Shuttle valve needed replacing (approx $2k). Apparently pre update models that have the 3 amigos need to have the ABS modulator replaced (approx $4k) - you just cannot replace the shuttle valve on its own. So yes it can happen to the update model. Mine had done 175,000kms at the time and is a V8
