Not sure about the "locked" bit.. but I used to get the "M" and "S" problem a lot. mine seemed related to battery condition.. I had a flat bat and got the RACQ out to give me a start, then gave it a really long drive and since then.. haven't had a prob. It's probably worth giving your battery a charge just to eliminate low bat voltage as a possibility.
battery is fine as it's only a few months old and a 1000cca showing about 13.5v static.
Only did it once and has been fine since.

Same with the 3 amigos, only happened a couple of times, day I drove it home and once or twice after until I washed it and hosed out the brakes with a pressure cleaner and that was with discs worn 3mm in on each side and pad backing touching the rotor!!! Lasted 6 weeks until I put new pads and rotors!!
