Thread: D2 Suspension catching

Rudolf, obviously this should not be occurring, I'd be checking my radius arm bushes and every thing else Are your shocks to long so the spring can move and not re seat properly?? Has the car been in a stack??, the answer has to be there, just started or always?.

The springs does not get off the seat.
Has always been there but I never bothered to look and only happens on extreme cross axle.
The shocks are from the same 2" lift kit.
All the rubbers are also fine.
I should take it to a Landy expert this side too see what they say.
Problen is that D2's are not very popular here for hard off road.

I dont think that this is uncommon to be honest. It might rub a little but it shouldn't catch at all. The springs are held close to the chassis by the perch anyway, although I see there is something weird going on with yours and the rubber spacer. But when the suspension articulates the axle brings the spring in even closer and allows it to run. This is the reason why I've always commented against running spring spacers at the bottom of the front suspension which will make this problem worse. The rear doesn't seem to do it.

Does it happen on both sides?

Possibly a bent/warn pannard rod.

This would allow the diff to sit off centre.

Large lifts 4"+ on Patrols ect. usualy get adjustible ones to cure this.

Sorr, my error. ITs all good, I thought that your rubber isolator was half out, but its actually just the design of the perch and the angle that it was being viewed from that made it look like that. Mine is the same.

Is it just me or do those springs look like the diameter of the coil is larger/wider than standard? Any chance that they are the wrong coil and are wider. They could fit the perch but could be wider causing the rubbing....
