    Long Range Tank

Anyone got a Brown Davis or Longranger long range tank in there D2, I'm trying to see which fits the best and whether you need to replace the standard fuel pump when going to the larger tank.

I punched a hole in the fuel tank when up the Cape and now I'm replacing it under warrenty, the long range tank is a cheaper option going on the $1800 price for a replacement Land Rover tank.

I also have trimmed rear quarters, so seeing how either of the two brands fit would be good.

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

Got the Long Ranger 135L in the back of mine. If you'd like pics I can try to get some tomorrow.
As Ean said the fuel pump fits straight in - although mine is retained by a screwed down (as in screws - not threaded) ring.
    Cheers

    Long Range Tank

    Baz,

I have a perfectly good D2 tank sitting here at home (Canberra) that you can have rather than spend money on a new one if that is all you need.

I fitted Long Ranger tanks to my D2 a few months ago. PM me with your email address and I will email you a copy of my illustrated "tutorial" on how I did it. They use the standard fuel pump.

If you are travelling long distance, I really recommend going for the bigger tanks. They give great flexibility.

    Cheers,

    Terry

Thanks mate for the offer of the tank, we will be going for the long range tank and as it will be an insurence job it will work out a lot cheaper.

Ferel already emailed your tutorial, I was looking it over the other night, very good and detailed tutorial.

    Thanks again, Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

    Long range tank

Had a mate who worked for Brown davis for about a week. He wasnt impressed by there welding techniques. He talked about hydrogen imbrittlement occuring causing cracks in welds. I have a LRA 51l sill tank fitted, giving me 145l all up, figured if it ****s itself i wont loose the lot.,
