Done. hopefully i'll never need to make another set of sliders for myself again. if anything happens, i will mount to the frame using DOM tubing. although i don't see the sills bending with the kind of wheeling i do.

and here are the old sliders for you to compare against.

    amicalola v-dtiches. 35mm.

"rough butt". picture doesn't look as bad, but the back of the truck was laying against dirt wall. that happened a lot on this particular trail. hand shows how close the truck is.

    lower bald.

finally got my wheel spacers on. the lug nuts were sticking out, not allowing the wheel to mount flush on the spacer. so i cut the little "lip" that DII steel wheel come with to allow the plastic cover to mount on steel wheel. no the spacers mount flush and aren't budging.

trimmed my slider back. the 255/85s were rubbing on the inside under full flex.

    stupid trees.

another wonderful weekend at 5000 feet.

stainless steel and a good bit longer than stock.

they're going on tomorrow so i can FINALLY install these:

got to work today on the rear bumper. gave dad a shot at the plasma.

not bad for an old man:

those will be the quarterpanel protection for the side of my bumper. i'll be cutting the corners of the partially complete bumper tomorrow and welding these in. i don't know if i'll be able to get the side supports in, but we'll see.

what it was cut out of. 3"X6"X1/4" steel.

i got a little more done tonight. i went to costco to get my tires rebalanced and i had to wait 2.5 hours. i'm never going at lunch time again.

anyways, i only had three hours to work tonight. so this is what i got done:

cut out the side at an angle so the quarterpanel protection follows the lines of the truck.

tacked it in place. i did this off the truck adn didn't use clamps, so it didn't fit right. i have alittle more work to do on the quarter panel pieces, but i should be able to get them welded in tomorrow.

that's it for now. i really want to get those sides in by tomorrow night. i'm going camping so it'll need to be done.
