    D2 TD5 - serpentine belt

    hi all,
    appreciate advice frequency these should be changed and any way to find out when last changed.
    fyi i bought the car with 175k and know has 210k, prior to me buying it was serviced every 20k at lr specialists so would assume was done if required prior.

    think there done every 80thou??
    fwiw change it now and keep the other as a spare.

    dont forget to replace some of youre pulleys as well

    Hi I have a td 5 with 210,000 on the clock my serpentine belt was recently shredded due to the idler pulley bearings seizing up..I was left stranded near Marble Bar (desert)...so golden rule is also to replace the idler pulley ($90) and tensioner pulley ..similar amount.

    Luckily I have had some good advise from alien..who is helping me to get it back on the road...Good Luck..Rob
