    Question Noise RHS Front D2

    Gday All,

Have give the D2 a 2 " lift using Bilstein Shocks 50mm + also Lovells Springs in the front. And SLS extension 50mm in the rear and the problem I have is since doing it there seems to be a noise from the RHS front sounds like a spring rattling around .Makes a terrible racket on dirt roads. Have checked all bolts and they seem Ok. Any Ideas I will be putting it into Coopers soon for a Chip upgrade and will get him to check it out as I cant sort it.

Recheck the top shock mounting bolts for tightness. I have had to retension them in the past after about a week or so of driving.

Wayne, it was a customers vehicle, and I had to retension them about a week later and YES they made a heck of a racket The noise resembled a clattering knock when driving on a rough bit of road. Since then, Whenever I fit shocks to these I have used a bit more 'force' when tightening the top bolts and it hasn't occured again Maybe I just hadn't had my weeties that morning??

Hopefully they are not 1/2" crush tubes instead of 12mm also.

Slunnie, Is the measurement you are talking about the diameter of the hole or the width of the crush tube ?

Finally had a chance to check the top shock mount and it was loose as buggery. When checking for movement with a long screwdriver it made the exact sound as I have been hearing. Once tightened and tested all good. Many thanks for your help , how good is this forum!!
That noise was driving me nuts
I was thinking it was the spring after I had just installed 2" lift using Lovell springs & Bilstien's having done it myself. I was hoping I had not caused issues.

    Cheers Wayne
