    Rear Seat Belt Issue

I have an issue with the RHR seat belt (5 seats so it is the one directly behind the driver).

Belt is difficult to extend and then almost never retracts. Here it is insitu:

and with the cover removed. The black section in the middle that the belt has to turn 90 degrees and travel around is some sort of polystyrene:

However on the LHS there is no problem:

    as there is no foam!

    Comments/suggestions please.
    Cheers, Dale

Have you tried to pull that foam out Dale?

It looks to me like it's not suposed to be there.

    Cheers Kyle.

Not pull it out as it is far bigger than the hole you can see in through! I was after some insight from others before my next step which is to remove the rest of the trim and see if I can get it out.

Having said that it seems to be fixed in there.

I found a piece of foam just like that in my 02 model. It was located on the drivers side behind the trim between the storage bin and the tail light panel. (behind the plastic vent ) I thought the previous owner may have put it in for padding when he stored something in there, I threw it away. There was no such foam material near the seat belt mount.
    regards

I'm thinking it might have been put there as an anti rattle device.
Can't see it being there from new.
Keep us informed when you pull it out.

    Cheers.
