Sounds like bearings to me, I had the same noises on my D1. Hopefully it only wheel bearings if it is do both sides. If not it will be in the swivel hub.

Have zig zaged up the road and only get it on the left side think it could be the wheel bearing do they have any problmes with these normaly. Is there any way I can test out if it is the wheel bearing or what eles could it be.

Does your vehicle have ACE and if so, could the noise be coming from below the driver's floor?
If still yes then there's probably a small pebble caught between the chassis and the ACE valve block.

Hey Skellz,Jack the wheel up and grab hold top and bottom of the tyre and see if there is any movement, this can tell you if its wheel bearings.
Theres a guy at premier fuel injection who is the disco guru in darwin he done my front pulleys and harmonic balancer when they failed.Im at sea at the moment but will try and find out his name.

I'd be very surprised if it was a wheel bearing, the D2 are not known for doing wheel bearings so early.
CV, power steering, something rubbing maybe.

Have a feel of your tie rod ends on the steering rod and track rod, dry tie rod ends can make a noise. What condition as your hub carrier balljoints in? If they are badly worn...like mine, they can also make a noise. I have a similar noise to what you are talking about, sort of a whining squeaking noise, notice it off road especially.
Have to agree, d2 wheel bearings are pretty good, haven't had to do any of mine yet, and mine has over 260 000kms on the clock.
Hope that helps
