IFAIK, cargo barriers are a custom fit. On D2A, the alpine light casings need to come off to fit up a Milford barrier.

Are there factory provisions for a cargo barrier or do you have to drill holes yourself?

Genuine Factory Dog guard will provide a good barrier, thats what I use, and it's a useful thing for hanging stuff on etc.
They have to be drilled.
I had one installed last week (read the instructions & put it in the too hard, too scared basket)
Worth the cash though IMO![]()
I rang Milford and was told you couldn't get a cargo barrier for a D2 with 7 seats and rear air con..gave me a number to ring in Sydney to get one custom made...Rang them and was told the rear seats have to be removed before they will do the quote - fair enough, was going to take them out anyway. Which I have since done - heaps more room. Haven't been out for the quote yet but suspect it would be exxy...
I've got a D2 7 seater with rear air con and have had a Milford barrier installed 6 years ago. The attachment points don't go near either the 3rd row seats or a/c. Upper points involved taking off the 3rd row grab handles and the lower ones are in the floor.

FYI getting one fitted in D2 5 seat on Thursday, $450 installed by Roof Rack Superstore in Yarraville. Not Milford, Autosafe brand. Quote under an hour using existing mounting points... wait and see.
Will post a pic or three when complete.
As promised, pics of installation. A bit different to Milford, at first wasn't too happy with the bars running to the back door surround, but then thought makes for a handy tray for sleeping bags, pillows or similar lightweight stuff. Will make up some netting to go between the two bars to make good use of the space. Figure the lack of the bars across the roof with a Milford barrier is not worth another $150 or so.

Just so you know, fitting a floor to roof barrier will stop access to the rear door from the inside your vehicle, so if you plan on doing any remote travelling, just be aware that the rear door latch on D2s are prone to dust and will not open when they get full of dust and they will get full of dust.
So if you really want a cargo barrier, don't get a floor to roof type one.
Baz.
